Fun Family Easter Traditions

Who doesn’t love fun holiday traditions? We especially enjoy celebrating Easter in our house! Here are some family-friendly traditions to incorporate into your holiday this year:

Idea #1: The night before Easter, have your little ones help you “plant” a jelly bean garden! Simply dig a few small holes in the yard or in a planter box and have the kids place a jelly bean in each hole, then while they are asleep at night, swap out each jelly bean with a lollipop standing up like a flower out of the ground!

Idea #2: To start your Easter morning off in a fun way, make oval shaped pancakes to look like eggs and then let the kids decorate them with whipped cream (separate the whipped cream into separate bowls and add different colored food coloring to each bowl so the kids can decorate with different colors!)

Idea #5: Spring weather can sometimes be unpredictable, but when the weather is just right it can be so fun to get outside and fly kites!! It can be fun to decorate a kite or even let each child pick out their own at the store.

Idea #6: Make Egg Time Machines! Have each child write a letter to themselves (if they are too young to read/write you can have them draw a picture),  have them place it in a plastic egg and save it for them to open the next year. It is fun to collect them over the years so you and the kids can look back on them!

Idea #7: Have a Peeps Party! Prepare different snacks and dishes that involve peeps, such as:

  • Peeps Fondue, prepare warm chocolate fudge and caramel to dip the peeps in!

  • S’mores, put your peeps on a stick and heat over a bonfire to make s’mores!

  • Rice Krispie Treats, make traditional rice krispie treats but instead of regular marshmallows- use Peeps for a sweeter version!

  • Popcorn Balls, melt peeps in a pot on the stove and then add fresh popcorn and roll into balls to look like little bunny tails!

Holiday traditions are so cherished in our home and helps us create memories that we will carry with us forever! We love Easter and hope you can incorporate some of these fun traditions in your home too! xo

Idea #3: Spring is all about rebirth and new beginnings! A fun tradition is to visit a local farm and see the new baby animals. It can also be fun to pick up some fresh eggs for all of your Easter recipes!

Idea #4: Easter crafts are so fun! Decorating eggs can be a blast and a great way to get the creative juices flowing. We love doing tie-dye on some of our eggs and then decorating some of them like little bunnies!
